Default injectors maxed out, any recommendations?

like the title says, injectors maxed out. 80% at 3200! then 100% by 4400 and 129% from 6500-6800. Went 11.65@116 today on em'. Guess I need injectors, should I go with 42#'s?

right now i'm running my cam only setup for a while. Heads sometime in a couple months. It runs great right now I don't wanna rip it apart until I work some bugs out. But I'm wondering if 60s will be too big for my current setup?

ford svo 30's are good for about 36lb in the ls1 and should deal with almost any 5.7 heads and cam. Stoker etc then head up in size.
There are plenty of calculators around for working out what you need based on bhp and bsfc.
60's will be a nightmare at idle and flow far too much. IMO.

ive heard good things about a 36lb injector. I'm pretty stuck on lucas or SVO 42#s though.

60s will be great, if you have a good tuner. You will be ready for all the mods you can throw at it down the road.

60's may not be the best choice for driveabilty/idle

As i stated in my post^, it all depends on the tuner. I have seen people use 60s that have excellent driveability. I like the 60s because you are ready for more mods down the line, also most 60s cost a little cheaper than 42s.

if you have a good tuner he will not recomend 60's for a NA heads cam car either. you want to be 75-80% IDC (with proper AFR of coarse) at redline. you sound alittle on the fat(rich) side in the lower rpms to be getting that IDC that soon.

Dan - Greatest calibrators in the world cannot change the laws of physics. If the engine is inefficient enough at idle, you may be OK for those 60's to keep a 1.8ms pw, or you may not. The calibrator can fix, but not solve.

Like i said, i have seen great results using 60s on a h/c cars. Their duty cycle is only at like 55%, excellent headroom for future mods. I guess you will have to use what you think is best for you. But to say that you cannot have great driveability using 60s is not true as far as i am concerned. Good luck whatever you choose.

It seems that you should be instaling an injector that is about 40 to 50% larger than you have now (becauase of the 129% DC). And as stated above you do not want to install a too large injector that would make idle and low speed drivibility a bear to tune. So if you have the factory 26#/hr injector still in the engine, then I would recommend the Ford Racing 30#/hr injectors which will flow about 36#/hr in our LS1 cars, or the 36#/hr FAST injectors which I figure will flow 40#/hr in our LS1 cars.

I've datalogged injector duty cycle as high as 118% on my cam only car as well.

On dyno it never went leaner than 12.9:1.

You have to compare the injectors at the same fuel pressure, otherwise you are comparing apples and oranges. The 30 #/hr Ford Racing injectors (SVO does not exist anymore) are rated at 39.5psi. The stock fuel pressure in our LS cars is 58psi, that is the fuel pressure that the 26.4 #/hr injectors are rated at. The formula to determine what the flow rate of the 30 #/hr injectors at 58 psi is:
30 * sqrt of (58/39.5) = 30 * 1.212 = 36.4 #/hr
and
36.4/26.4 = 1.3788, therefore, the Ford 30s at 58psi will flow 37.9% more than the factory 26s.

I put 60lb mototrons in every car we do. They are very nice and handle very well when set up correctly. Even on a 300hp car they idle at normal levels.
