So is there really any HP gains going with a 52mm throttle body? Any dyno #'s out there from a stock 48 to a 52?

Just port and remove the screen in your stock unit. I saw 6hp, but it was a cold day...

I've never heard of there being a screen in a throttle body..are you talking about the mass flow air?

FYI. The GM Performance Parts 502 ci/502 HP Ram Jet crate motor uses a twin 48 mm throttle body.

Yes, but it could benefit from a larger one
And no you will not have any gains (if you are stock) with just switching throttle bodies.

stock is fine, only time you need to upgrade is for fi or higher hp applications.

So, you are saying that you saw a true dyno gain swapping the throttle body on a GMPP 502/502? Same AFR? Please share your experience with us.

Looks as if a 52 over a 48 gets you little to none. Guess it depends on what mods you have done to the motor. So I'm guessing that since I have full bolt ons it wouldn't hurt to use the 52. I'm guessing it will end up adding a extra 100hp..lol

I have a 52.I lost some torque but gained responsiveness if that makes any sense

when I changed mine i got little to no gains. but I am sure it helps responsiveness. since it matches the manifold.
