Vibration at certain speeds...??

Vibration at certain speeds...??
Well, after hitting the track today, I'm on the road on the way home.
From about 60 to 75 MPH, the car has a wicked vibration.
Can feel it in the steering wheel, gas pedal, and the seat... basically the whole car.
The general educated guess is that my rear U-joint is nearing the end of its life.
I'm thinking I'll replace it and the driveshaft before doing any more racing.
For everyday driving, it's OK.
Does this sound right? I just wanna make sure before I go and replace stuff I don't need.
My car only makes 317rhwp, runs mid 12s, and cuts 1.7 60ft times.
Do the stock U-joints really suck that bad?

Make sure that your drive shaft is tight. I had the same problem a while back. I had a vibration from around 70-80mph. All it took to fix was some lock tight and some sockets.

I have similar feelings but above 140 mph. From what I understand it is from driveshaft.
I need to mod to carbon fiber driveshaft, they say it cures high speed vibes.

Have you lost a tire weight??
Is it in all gears at that speed or only say in 4th?
DS would surprise me since it didn't do it prior to racing!

I haven't lost any wheel weights, and the car still tracks straight even if I let go of the wheel.
Doesn't seem to matter what gear it's in, and there's a definite vibration from 30mph or faster.
I'll check the U-joint bolts, and try to see if it is still firmly attached to the DS.
If not... my stock DS is steel, and I've found an aluminum one to buy, so I'll just swap it out I guess.

OK my car is weird. The vibration is almost completely gone now.
Driveshafts don't fix themselves, lol.
Well, I'm buying an aluminum driveshaft, so I'm gonna put that in anyway.
Should help get more power to the wheels anyhow versus my steel stock driveshaft (2.73 gears = steel DS).
Thanks for all the help & info guys.

Re: Vibration at certain speeds...??
Does the car still vibrate if you put in neutral at those same speeds? Mine goes away if I slip the car into neutral- otherwise I have a wicked vibration at 70 mph. So I'm thinkin tranny is the culprit (at least in my case).
