Boosted Noobie
Like it says, I'm very new to boost, but now I have an FI car so I think I need to get acquainted. I have a 9:1 396, blower cam, AFR heads, and a D1-SC setup, right now it is suppose to be making 8 lbs, but I'm not sure of the pulley size. I don't know too much about the build because I bought the car as-is, but I should be getting more info on parts, cam specs, cc, etc. tonight but I was wondering what options I have as far as pulley size for a D1-SC? The car is suppose to make 750 ish at 8 lbs. What are my options for the pulleys etc.?

4.5 6-8#, 4.0 8-10#, 3.7 10-12#, 3.5512-14#, 3.4 14-18# these all depend on your altitude, filter, ducting, intercooler, intake, heads, or anything else that would restrict airflow in and out of the blower, and would be at 6000 rpm, if you run higher than 6k it will increase the amount of boost. I have a 4.0 pulley and was told I should see 10# but saw a max of 8.85. I changed the filter and saw 10# at 6000 rpm. Hope this helps.

750 @ only 8 lbs!! UGGHHHH nevermind about that race! Maybe me on sticky tires and you on those pretty rims! hahaha
We all (well everybody around here at least) know you couldn't have bought a better car. Besides the primary selection of great parts in it...The only things I'd be concerned about are how well that thing stays cool on decent length cruises (Jeremiah said he had issues running the A/C and it got hot even in traffic in summer heat), find out if ARP studs were used throughout, and making sure the tune is right on. Sounds to me it was built like a tank. Do you know what all has been done for fuel? You want to make sure he didn't skimp out on the fuel system to get the car back on the road to break it in. Make sure theres enough fuel for big boost at 6K + with 396 inches.

Mine was getting hot with the a/c on. I just bought a second fan from EPP. Not sure if it worked though, I got it this winter and havn't installed it. I want to see if the E-85 will run cooler then the gas was.

Ryan, a 2 core radiator is going in before it gets tuned for sure, ARP fasteners throughout, lunati crank, pistons, and eagle rods, 2 walbro's in the tank, FAST rails, and 50 or 60 lb injectors (I'll have to check w/brett), I think I should be okay on fuel.
Vaticano, that info is pretty much priceless, thanks! Thanks for the comment WS6HUMMER!

damn 750 at 8 lbs thru a procharged fbody seems pretty optimistic to me. well maybe flywheel i can see that. really there are so many variables to get an actual boost number the only true way to know is to get on it and watch the gauge. being centrifigal u likely wont see that boost number til prob atleast 5500-6000 on your motor.

^ maybe so, unfortunately I can't get on it yet untuned, I've been highly advised against it, lol. I'll have to see when we get it tuned, although it may not even make as little as 8 lbs, I'm trying to get a pulley in before it gets the radiator swapped and tuned, I'd like 10 lbs.
