Default Road course racers! What suspension works well?

Looking for some input before I purchase sway bars, shocks/struts, etc.

Let know your likes/dislikes!

Thx

Well I do an odd form of road racing. But I've had great success with my strano springs and koni SA combination. Once I added them both, my confidence of holding higher speeds around the turns has skyrocketed. I would also pick up a strano front and rear swaybar set. I have a strano front and a bmr 21mm solid rear. I would def go with the strano rear though if I was starting over from scratch.

This is an excellent write-up: https://ls1tech.com/forums/suspension-brakes/842240-fbody-street-suspension-setup-review.html

Posted on another site I work on/with, but relevant to the thread

Note that this is one of my HP3. There are other options, available We did not touch anything here but for the shocks, springs, bars, PHB, alignment. No LCA's, brackets, TA changes, front control arm changes, etc.

If you read though I think the results speak for themselves, let alone Rick's impressions of the way the car drives.

Those two threads and how he wrote both of them were top-notch!

Well darn the links are blocked for me.... Guess Ill have to wait till I get home to read them lol. I am in the same boat as you GM POWER in deciding on what to go with or where to start. We had a guy that went out to the SSCA course here in hawaii completely stock and ended up cracking his dashboard and having gaps in the door. There are even stock mazda station wagons that run the course here and have no problems so I decided not to go until I get some supportive mods. But from all that I have been able to read so far Sam Strano defiantly knows what he is talking about.

Sam does know f-bodies BIG TIME!

And with regards to that guy cracking his dashboard and stuff, man, he must've been driving WAY beyond what his factory suspension could do, sounds like his cars unibody was flexing so much that it caused that damage.

Wow...

Don't worry about it.... because not only is that not normal, I've never even heard such a thing before. And I've personally been beating on various F-cars since 1997 (and some a LOT more flexy than a 4th gen).

Ok good stuff dont know what the deal is with his car but glad to hear our f-bodies dont normally do that lol. Now I am not so nervous about going out to the track. BTW, is the koni sa the only shocks that would be considered for a track type set up? I ask only for the cost behind them.

for the most part ya. SA and DAs. but, the SAs hold up longer and are stronger then the DAs. so SAs are more recommended.
