99' Silverado Wiring Harness for LQ4???
Hey Guys,
I visited my local salvage yard today and picked up a 99' Silverado Engine Harness for my LQ4 project. I got it home and compared it to the harness in my 2000 5.3L Silverado, and it looks completely different. Instead of having 2 large hubs that insert into the computer, there are 4 small black ones. If I get the computer, will this work with my 6.0L?
I'm confused now because I read that any harness from 99'-03 would work on the LM7's and LQ4's. But this just doesn't look right.
Please, any help would be appreciated. The guy assured me that it was a 99' Silverado Vortec that I pulled it from, so before I start getting pissed, I figured that I'd better ask you guys.
Thanks in advance,
Vince

if it was a 99 1/2 ton you are all right however the 99 3/4 ton and up didn't have the gen III motors they still had the vortec 350 so it may be a different either way he didn't lie you have a vortec computer in may not be the right one tough.

In that case, I think I might be screwed. As I was checking out, he mentioned that it had a 5.7L in it. But he assured me it was a 99' Silverado.
I did a quick search on google, and I found a 98' "old style" vortec and the wiring harness looks exactly like it. I'm 100% positive it's the same kind.
Is it possible I bought the stepchild harness, or did he mistaken the year.
Either way, I'm out $100.00.

no it could be a 99 2500 and it would be the older style. the 1500 were the only 99's with the gen III in them. as for being out the money take it back and tell him it's not right you want a gen III harness
