What Are These? *10 points for ever correct anser:P*
im doing the intake manifold gasket and ive got a few questions about some things i duno what they are
A: this pan on the udner side of the intake, what exactly does it doo?
B: this black vac thing on the rear drivers side of the intake
c: little black box thing that has a vac line running from item B to the intake manifold *was attached to the 5'th stud from the front on the drivers side*
here is a pic of them together
sorry for the dark pictures, had to rush everything inside quickly becuse it just started pouring out..

A: Acts as a heat barrier for the intake & also is where the pcv pulls the air from the motor.
B: Egr Valve
C: Egr Valve attached to Egr Valve Solenoid Via Vacuum lines.

tuen it out?? as in its gunna throw a code?
im going to get it tuned as it must be done for boost. soo i can get rid of it all and call er a day with out worrieing about it? is there any benafit to keeping it?

As long as you leave that "black box" that was connected to the EGR, PLUGGED IN to the wiring harness, all is well and your car thinks it's still got an EGR valve.

yea, when changing the EGR valve i unplugged the solenoid and when i got in the car to start it the SES came on and the gauge cluster opened up and a sawed off was staring straight at me....damn PCM.
