Default Picked up set of 5.3 heads casting 862 got some questions

Searched and didn't find a clear answer so here it goes. Setup is below in sig. I got these from my buddy, he upgraded his motor in his procharged Silverado to a 6.0l. Should I hold on to these heads, meaning would it be worth it to say have a port/polish job done on them and get bigger valves and put them on or hold onto these as "cores" and save the dough to get a set of CNC'd heads. Also if I did do just a port/polish on them how would that effect my tune, would it need to be retuned? Sorry its late and im probably not making much sense, just curious thanks guys.

Only you can answer whether or not the money spent is "worth it" or not, man. If you have the money and desire for a few more HP, then yes it is.

Its not the money I just am clueless lol. I mean I see the 1000 to 1800 prices of heads from places like TEA and TSP but what I'm wondering is what would just a port and polish do for these over my stock 241s other than slightly raise the compression and what cost range.

A P&P job increases airflow. More airflow = more power.
