Is there any difference between the 98'-02' Z28 calipers and the 93'-97' Z28 calipers?

Well I let the camaro sit around all winter up here in Iowa with all the snow we got. Unfortunatly the rear calipers are alomost completely seized up. Instead of replacing them with stock replacements I was thinking about replacing them with something alittle bigger and better. Are the LS1 (98-2002) rear calipers bigger/better in any way than the LT1 (93-97) rear calpers? If not does any body recommend a good set of aftermarket calipers that would go good with a set of C5 vette calipers that I will also be purchasing?

hmmmm. I am not sure about the rears.

I know the front calipers for the LS1 are two piston where the LT1 are 1 piston.

If you are going to upgrade rear calipers, you better upgrade the front too. Locking up your rear brakes before locking up your front brakes is bad bad bad news.

Indeed^. If I need to make some sort of combination valve adjustment, I will make sure to do so also after I replace the 4 calipers.

LS1 and LT1 rear calipers are not the same, the mounting brackets and ebrake setups are different. However, the piston size is very close (if not exactly the same). To upgrade to the LS1 setup, you need the complete backing plates, with e-brake cables.

There is no reason to mess with the rear calipers. The stock LT1 calipers provide more than enough stopping power. In fact, many road racers use street brakes pads on the rear with race pads in the front because too much rear brake causes axle hop.

I'd just get new, stock LT1 rear calipers. There is zero functional reason to upgrade. Stock LT1 rears will work great with a C5 setup in the front.
