The making of a low 10 second street car.
I finally decided to try and get crazy on the mods im doing to my car. I ordered TEA 5.3 Heads, Comp 224/228 .581/.588 112lsa Cam, Chrome Moly Pushrods, TSP Ported Oil Pump, Rollermaster Double Roller Timing Set, Combination Motorsports Stage 3 4l60, PA Tubular K-Member, PA Tubular A-Arms, PA STB. Im planing on ordering a Walbro 340 pump, Yella Terra 1.7's. I already have a Vigi 2800 im getting done up to a 3600, BFG DR's, Headers w/xpipe, and a couple other bolt ons. I cant decide what nitrous kit to go with, im leaning toward the TNT F2. Im also trying to decide if i should get head studs or not. What kind of RWHP and Times can i expect, and what nitrous kit should i get.

If the NXL kit ever comes out I will try my pistons off to get it! But then again, if "If" was a fifth, we'd all be fugged up!

I believe the GM gaskets will be fine, get the ARP studs if you plan on taking the heads off a few times. I got the ARP head bolts, ARP PN# 134-3609

I heard you have to pull the motor to take the heads off if you use studs... is this true... said because you have to lift them up over the studs...i will have the motor out of the car for the head install... but if i ever blow a head gasket (which i know i probably will) i dont want to have to pull the motor again.

No, that's not true. There are several people on the board here who use head studs and have been able to take the heads off without taking the motor out of the car.

if your trying to get into the 9's on a stock bottom end, its gona come down to how well the nitrous is distributed betwene the cylender. That being said I would either go with the NOS nozzel kit or something else that dosent spray infront of the throtle body.

I am going for 9's next year, but with an ARE 346 and a direct port nitrous kit. I'm afraid of leaning out the rear cylinders shooting for a 9 with my TNT Power Ring.

You could make LS1 history....or just make really cool holes in the side of your block, and oil down the track.
I think it would be cool to try, but I dont want to lose a perfectly good motor doing it.

I think I might like to try, once I get the forged bottom end waiting on the sideliens, and a spare block, NXL. I think my trans and rear will go first! But, I am wanting 10's, mid to hi 10's n stock bottom at least.
