I have heard mixed anwsers on this subject.
A) Some say you should be ablel to give it hell right off the bat if it's built right. Hell racecars do it.
B) Some say to drive it normally for the first 500 miles approx. to give the rings time to properly seat. Then you can start giving it hell.
I'd also like to hear from some of the professional motor builders on this site. Maybe like Weber, TSP, W2W. I'm getting geared up to start my build & I'd like a solid anwser on this as well.

On those rings I'd say give it 500 before spraying her. That will give more than enough time for everything to seat properly.
So I take it she's together and running, Drew?

Nope, not yet. I wish she was. I'm waiting on a trans from Performabuilt and the new stall. Other than that the motor is back in the car and she's ready to go! Hopefully I'll get to start her up here in the next few weeks and get to take her for a spin. I can't wait. I'll definitely be posting some videos!
Thanks again for everything Matt!

I have always heard break it in like your going to race it i have heard that if you granny it for awhile before you give her hell it will stress the motor because its not use to it but hell who really knows

last motor I broke in was an all forged 383 sb chevy. Once it was in the car we started it up and let it idle for 30 minutes then shut it down, let it cool. Then we went and started it up again and bounced it of the rev limiter about 3 times and it was ready for the fogger shot...of course this was a 13:1 motor with enough spray to get a small town high for a week.
