Short Belt Question-Pro's vs Con's
I'm thinking about doing the short belt mod....
A. What is the proper belt for this mod?
B. anybody got a routing picture or diagram?
C. What gains will I see?
D. Will it cause any problems with my steering components?
This will be on my daily driver.
I already know I want a stiffer steering....I dont
like "LOOSE" steering.

Re: Short Belt Question-Pro's vs Con's
Pros: less parasitic loss (couple HP maybe)
engine will rev up slightly quicker
more stable at higher speeds
builds your arms
Cons: very hard to turn without skinnies
even with skinnies, it takes effort when stopped
steering wheels will move about a half inch either way before turning wheels
There is a belt diagram on the driver side shock tower. With an ASP pulley, you need a 50-51 inch belt I think. This will cause no problems, but you might see a slight gain or no gain.
I would only do it over again if I had a Madman manual rack (which I do now) and a lot of weight off the front end (which I do).
