They say it can handle the "mighty ZZ572/720" crate engine.
It comes with a production torque converter (approximately 1,800 - 2,000 rpm stall speed). Price is around $4000 with converter and GM controller.

Hydr-Matic 4L85-E Four-Speed Automatic Transmission. GM Performance Parts is pleased ot announce the new SuperMatic line of Performance transmissions. It is compatible with all GM Performance Parts Crate engines and was specifically validatedd with the mighty ZZ572/720. This transmission is assembled with all new parts, several upgraded internal components, and a revised valvebody. This transmission is supplied with a production torque converter (approximately 1,800 - 2,000 rpm stall speed), and requires the GMPP Transmission Controller P/N 12497316 (sold separately).

Includes wiring harness, controller, software and lap-top hook-up. Allows the use of electronically controlled transmissions in early model vehicles. Fully programmable for upshift, downshift, part throttle and wide-open shifts and shift firmness. Comes pre-programmed, just enter your rear tire diameter and rear axle ratio and go, or create your own custom shift characteristics. Originally developed by GM Racing for off road truck racing. The controller has the ability to record and graph drag race data like time, speed, shift point, engine rpm and more. Requires a throttle position sensor on carbureted applications, see instruction manual for specific parts required.
