Can I use a 99 Z28 rear end on a 1996 SS?
My rear end is gone on my 96 SS. A buddy with a 99 Z28 has his stock rear end laying around and is giving it to me dirt cheap. Can I use this rear end on my camaro?

It will fit if that's what you mean. Might want to make sure gears are the same ratio...otherwise you'll need to adjust the ratio change. You can check the code and see what both cars came with.

The whole rear brake assembly is different so that will have to be swapped but thats no big deal - the housing ends are the same. Also it depends on if the rear out of the 99 has TCS or not. My old 2000 rear is under a 94 z28 so it works. He doesnt have any ABS though since my old rear was a 4 channel. The caliper brackets may rub the rotors also, LT1 axles are spaced a tiny bit further out but the last one I did didnt rub..
