1983 G Body wagon LS motor swap
I have a 1983 Pontiac Bonneville wagon presently with a 406 SBC built for pump gas, runs good but looking to upgrade to an LS motor. Thinking about either a 5.3L truck motor or the LQ9 6.0. Looking at using the swap kit by BRP. It looks to be a complete kit to do it right the first time. Any suggestions as I am looking more for a street cruiser than an asphalt assault vehicle! Plan is to install a Malibu front clip, trim the rear frame rails for tire clearance and install 96 Corvette wheels front and back...Family Pro Touring Wagon.

Wagons = COOL!
G bodies = COOL!
Don't see how you could go wrong here!!
BUT, 376 ci 6.2L VVT L92 is the way to go!!
But then, I'm a little biased (If my sig didn't give that away).

Thanks for the comments! I thought about the 6.2L L92 but get different opinions on wiring it up, transmission to use etc. The LQ9 I found is a 35K motor only with accessories for $2500...I have found 5.3 truck motors from $300 to $1500 with and without transmissions and accessories. I am 99% sure that I will have to swap over to an F-body accessory drive. Not too concerned about speed just reliability and half way decent gas mileage!
