Default Rotor question, pic inside...

My rotors always seem to have this "haze" to them, see the pic...

They don't have any warped feeling to them & it stops OK from dragstrip speeds. They do squeak once in a while, when it is warm out, more so when you apply light pedal pressure.

I picked up a set of el cheapo pads & I was going to throw them on to see if they helped.

I've seen these in person & they look great...Is it time for me to pick them up?

It almost looks like it's rust that's gotten scraped off and spread over the disc If the brakes are still working properly, I wouldn't worry about it to be honest.

As far as those rotors you linked to, I would reccommend putting up the extra coin for something a little better. Cheap rotors are just that: cheap. I had some similar to that and after about 15k miles of normal street driving with Hawk HPS pads, every single hole had cracks at the edges...

Personally, I'm just not really sold on cross-drilled rotors being practical on the street.

When I ran solid rotors I always had that hotspot look. Especially if using ceramic pads. When i switched to drilled and slotted rotors, I no longer notice it.

Hot spots. If no surging I wouldn't worry about it. Put some silicone LUBE on the back (not the friction side) and that should take care of the squeeks.

No pulling or pulsating at all, they squeak a little if your light on the pedal...

my front left squeaks a little with light pressure, but also when you roll out from a stop up to about 30-35. In my casrthe slider pins in the caliper bracet are frozen and need to be free'd, sanded, and regreased.
