i needed an aftermarket tach for my car because i will be spinning higher RPM's when i put my cam in. my buddy gave me a 5" Autometer sport comp with a shiftlight out of his 69' camaro(has distributor). my question is how can i wire this up to my 2002 camaro LS1 with a plug on coil igition? do i need some kind of adapter?(if so,where can i find one for cheap?) i have heard something about putting it in 4cyl mode?

wire to pin 35# i believe on the pcm, and then switch the tach to 4cyl mode

You want to wire the tach lead to Pin #10. It's a white wire on the lower connector of the PCM. 99-02 was #10, 1997-98 used pin #35. And 4 cylinder mode is correct.

yup the green wire off the tach goes to PIN #10 on the PCM. Red to a key on power source, black to a ground and white is for the light inside the tach(i used the gauge fuse inside the car)
