Default Overheating issue after LS6 intake?

I was told by someone that by using the coolant plugs to plug the rear coolant lines, causes the car to overheat.

is this true? and if so, should i just use another front coolant crossover pipe?

If that were true , don't you think GM would not have used them on thier cars ?

I just ground down the bottom of the LS6 manifold to fit over the older LS1 style steam/head vents.

Get a new mechanic. Theres no reason not to use the plugs. The 2001+ LS1 motors came this way from the factory!

So from what im understanding you can't just install an LS6 and be done with it? I thought for an LS1 all you have to do is trim the bottom/new coolant lines, and thats it. Again im still with the LS1 intake, so this information can help me in the future.

^ you can grind down the ribs of the ls6, or use a front coolant crossover pipe and 2 rear plugs.

From what i understand it was called 'steam vent' and was to go back to the TB, then to the coolant tank which sat higher. If you were getting air somewhere in the system this is how it would bleed out. Otherwise you may have an air pocket somewhere in the system. This is just what i have read and what i understood from it. I ran mine to my radiator in my swap, didnt know i could block it off.

So if you run the LS6 coolant pipes, and cover off the rear thats were people are encountring the overheating problem. So for those that just grind down the tabs under the intake, they don't un into this problem correct?
