Default Exhaust manifolds

I have a STS turbo ws6. I have been reading on this site about people using their stock exhaust manifolds to help spool up their turbo quicker, instead of headers. I also read somewhere that I should get 2005 6.0 exhaust manifolds so they don't have emissions. If I get those would it be a direct bolt on like the stockers? Or would I have to do some custom fab ****. Thanks!

you should try looking into the Forced Induction section. the users who are active in that section of ls1tech can probably help ya out. but as for turbos, yes just about anyone will say use stock manifolds/turbo-built headers/manifold log instead of using headers. some have used long tube headers on their rear mount turbo setups, and if you want to go that route they suggest exhaust wrapping the headers to help spool time.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if I should put it in the FI section or not. I did now.
