285's on stock corvette front wheels?

285's on stock corvette front wheels? Are 285's too big to put up front on the stock C5 Y2k front wheels? I really want to, because I have some left from my trans am that have great tread and would save me some $$.

I have 285's on the front of my 98 c5. They are on 9.5 18" repo zo6 rims.
295's on the back. Great for high speed autocrossing. Hooks like a ******. I say save the $$ and put em' on.

I will be upgrading to a 17x9.5" wheel, will 285's be ok at that point?
