Nitrous Pistons/Rods Suggestions...
I would like to build a stock displacement LS1 to handle 250-300 of nitrous. I would like to use the stock crankshaft and I already have the extra following components: LS1 block (already checked to be good), stock LS1 crankshaft, and MS4 cam. What would be a good forged piston/rod setup that could handle that much nitrous? Thank you,

I've got Wieseco Pistons and Scat Rods, seem to be nice quality....and my engine builder seemed to trust them.
Wieseco, JE, Diamond, Ross, CP, Mahle are all good pistons....Eagle rods with the better ARP bolts should hold what you wana do, no need for anything different really (unless you are trying to save weight). I say call up any of our sponsors and let them put you a combo together. I realize there are different materials used in making pistons, but most any of the forged LSx pistons should hold a 250, just make sure you're gapped for it.

pretty much any of the current LS pistons with the top ring down .300 or more, i dont recall anyone breaking any of the aftermarket rods, so take your pick. 11.5 :1 or more compression. Cold plugs and good gas.
A good, safe tune up, with the shot broken up into at least 2 stages, and you should be good to go.

Here is the combo I'm building right now.
Stock 2000 block/crank
Crower 6.125" rods w/ARP 2000 bolts
Diamond street/strip nitrous piston 3.905" bore -7cc
ARP hardware throughout the entire engine
I'll probably never hit it with over a 150-200 shot. It's being built to run strong on the motor & not flinch at the juice. Not a extreme build by any means but should be solid & reliable.
Plus right now I only have about $1200 wrapped up in all my parts & I already have the block, crank, pistons & rods.

i ran the lunati rods the pro mod ones. they are like 200 more then eagle, but a better rod for sure.
i ran dimaond pistions with hell fire rings, and i had the tops of the pistions coated.
held up for a couple years with 200-350 worth of spray

Well I purchased the rods (Scat LS1 forged h beam rods 6.125 with ARP 2000 bolts). Now I need to get a good set of pistons that can take a large shot (300) and not kill my wallet. Thanks,
