direct port question?? Can anyone help
Hey guys I just got a direct port nitrous express kit from a friend but it has the jets for 250hp and I would like to get the jets for 150 or maybe 175. I called nitrous dave but they asked me if I was going to run high fuel pressure or low fuel pressure. I really dont know much about that so does anyone try and tell me what I need to run. My car is a 98 ss which has a TSP 233/239 cam and bolt ons. I am also going to order the 92mm fast intake. Does anyone know where I can get nitrous express jets cheaper

If you tap into your existing fuel supply it would be a high pressure system. If you buy an external fuel cell to run the fuel side then you can opt for the high or low pressure system. I would go with a low pressure system. Reason being is that the higher the fuel pressure, the smaller the jet will be. They are easier to clog on the high pressure system. Also, Nitro Dave's sells the jets you need. They are $5 a piece. That is the cheapest I could find them. Welcome to the world of $45 per horsepower level.

I did not say anything bad about your company or any of your people. I didn't want to sound stupid asking what it was that he meant with that so I decided to ask here on the forums. I think I now understand exactly what he was talking about. Do you guys think I should upgrade my fuel pump to a 255 walbro or would it be ok with the stock one? So what jets do I need for a 150 shot if I'm going to run high fuel pressure? Thanks for the help guys

I did not take it that you were saying anything bad. You had stated that you called us and basically got of the phone confused. If you did not ask the questions we have no way of knowing what info to give you. However if you asked the questions and got off the phone with out those questions un answered that means we failed you.
I was asking that questions simply to see if we fell short so we could make sure it did not happen again.
Keep in mind no question is stupid and everyone started right where you are. Even us...
If you are using the cars fuel system to supply the fuel for the directport as well as the motor you will need jetting for 55psi. ( High Pressure)
Do to the amount of sudden fuel demand the directport requires you will need more than just a walboro fuel pump. I suggest putting a racetronix system on there and you will be good for about 650 rear wheel hp. We stock these systems so let me know if I can help.

Also, if you are on stock bottom end I would not expect your shortblock to last too long with such a large shot.

I think dave was refering to the fact that he would have been able to answer your questions had you asked. You will need bigger injectors, and a boost-a-pump if you plan on spraying a 150 shot.

The stock motor can take 150 shot with no problem as long as the tune is close.

.022N / .011F = 122.84 RWHP and 144.52 FWHP (Recommended Plug NGK TR6@.035"gap)
.022N / .012F = 148.63 RWHP and 174.86 FWHP(Recommended Plug NGK TR6@.035"gap)
.024N / .014F = 176.88 RWHP and 208.10 FWHP(Recommended Plug NGK TR7@.032"gap)
.026N / .014F = 207.06 RWHP and 244.33 FWHP(Recommended Plug NGk TR7@.032"gap)
This is at 55psi fuel pressure and 1000psi bottle pressure. This is what I always used and it worked just fine. Hope this helps out.
