Any hope for a .600" lift cammed car as daily driver?
Just put the first 30 miles on my new ride. Interesting to say the least...previous owner thought .600 lunati cam, no muffler and borla tips was a good idea. Its just obnoxious.
Anyways, anyone running a .600" (or larger) cam in their daily driver??? I have high hopes a good tune will bring this car back but right now its loading up and not even all that fun to drive. No clue what tune is in there but whatever it is isn't even close. I'm used to old muscle cars so a .600" cam would be for strip or at least weekends only. This car will see almost daily use. Just curious if a cam swap (smaller) should be in my future...

I myself am near the .600 lift but not over it.
Car rank like hell after cam and head install, wouldnt stay running, died, sputtered, surged at low RPMs....
After a base tune, car felt 100% better, idled fine, drove well with good power....
After the dyno tune, CAR FELT 100000000% better, responsive as all hell, idle was perfect, regular driving was fine, no surging, WOT was insane.
A lot of driveability, especially for us M6 drivers, is in the tune. Invest in that and you won't be dissappointed.

Good to hear. I feel like an old man talking about trying to tone down a car but I really want to get alot of use out of this car. I have the DFI sitting on the shelf ready to go in at some point, glad to hear all should be fine with a tune. I'm working on a temporary solution to get a little better tune in the mean time.
Car does at least fire up and stay idling. Runs ok at part throttle, the second I take my foot off the gas I can feel and hear it break apart, same with downshifting. Anxious to get a muffler on there and maybe dump the borla tips so I can get a better feel for what is going on.

Do you know the duration? As long as the springs were upgraded to handle the lift it should be fine. My cam I am installing has .609" intake and .604" exhaust. A tune should really help with the drivability, and if its too loud some magnaflows will quiet it down and still have a good note to the exhaust.

.600I/.610E here, not a single problem and I drive mine every day to work and back in 100+ degree heat and never have a problem. Needs alittle tweaking with the AC on but otherwise its fine

ummmm....no. .595/.598 so close enough here but I get 27-28 on the highway, avg. 20mpg, that said my car drives almost identical to stock, no bucking surging or any differences...until you hit 3200rpms full throttle!! Numerous people I know have MS3's .600+ and they ALL get 25+ one gets 29 hwy mpg, so don't let lift numbers alter your judgement. It's all in the tune!!
