Black smoke from the tail pipes when I nail the throttle from a roll
What could this be? I was told black smoke means its running really rich. Oil is white smoke, correct?
No smoke if I nail it off the line, only when I'm already rolling (45mph or faster) do I put out a continuous trail of black smoke while I'm on the throttle and accelerating hard from a roll.
I mean a big cloud too. Where I will lose sight of a car just a few lengths behind me.
Can a tune change on its own and run rich?

That definitely sounds too rich but it is odd that you'd see it only under certain conditions (e.g. the rolling start).
Have you pulled a plug to see how they look?
