Default braided clutch line on header..

Ok, i figured it was going to be close, but its actually up against the header, (the braided line going from the master cyl into the bellhousing, my question is how could i keep it from boiling the fluid or whatever is going to happen to the line itself? nothing close enough that i could see to tie it to to keep it off of it, and im not 2 sure if some kind of rigged exhaust wrap would help it that much either , but i'm open to suggestions, not going to be driving the car until its fixed...

also off topic, after installing the (headers/ls6 intake/wires,plugs/!air!egr/!rear 02's) why would my knock sensors be throwing codes?

thanks alot,

michael

I have a heat shield that I run the clutch line behind. Mine's an 01, though...

You need to zip tie that clutch line to the body to keep it as far as possible from the header. I also put 3/8" fuel hose around the braided line and wrap it in heat shield tape.

I put mine behind a heat shield that was attached to the car in that area. I also put a heat shield sleeve over it.

As the toher have said there is a heat sheild for this purpose, its run under it from the factory. If that not an option then a heat sleev and keep it from touching the header. If it touches it will transfer the heat

Yes, they should have a few different options for you, it's not uncommon stuff. Ask them where it is when you walk in.

As for the knock sensors you may have not plugged them in or you are pinching the wires under the manifold.

I actually got my heat shield sleeve from advance auto. Get the 3/4 diameter so it will slip over the quick disconnect fitting. It will be a little tight going over it though.

"i hate that thing... (dont have the correct tool for it) lol"

I've always used 2 small screwdrivers for 9 years and never have a problem, push them in at 6 and 9 o'clock, pull out the line.

Do NOT tune out the sensors. If they both went out at the same time they should be fine. They dont normally crap out at the same time. Check the wires on them.

the only kind of wrap i could find was for spark plugs.. it is a heat shield sleeve looking thing tho, and it looks like it'll fit over the wire, think it'll work? and how often should i change my fluid? and does that mean just bleed it? or change all the fluid, i doubt i'll put 3k miles on it within 2 or 3 months,
