Default First G8 with headers

Before we get into the numbers ARH deserves credit for creating a quality piece for these cars. I don't have to say much else because the numbers speak for themselves but lets just say GM left a lot on the table with these cars. You'll see the numbers from bone stock up to modded with ARH headers, RotoFab CAI, and a Kaltech Tune all in steps.

Here are the dyno sheets from all of the testing. Everything was done on our Mustang Dyno 1100SE with the converter unlocked.

Stock - 288 hp 302 ft lbs.

1. ARH Exhaust, Stock Mufflers, Stock Intake, Stock Tune - 327 hp 342 ft lbs
2. ARH Exhaust, No Mufflers, Stock Intake, Stock Tune - 328 hp 344 ft lbs.

1. ARH Exhaust, No Mufflers, RotoFab CAI, Stock Tune - 333 hp 352 ft lbs.
2. ARH Exhaust, Stock Mufflers, RotoFab CAI, Stock Tune - 332hp 349 ft lbs.
3. ARH Exhaust, Stock Mufflers, RotoFab CAI, Kaltech Tune - 343 hp 360 ft lbs.

Enjoy.

This was an awesome post bro. You really showed how every step effected the amount of power the motor made. Best post as far as R&D goes in a long time. Need more sponsors to take a few extra minutes and post up like you. Very, very impressed.

I almost forgot....................

Whens the cam going in ???

If you do a cam swap, will you start small and go bigger to see how she responds to more lift/duration ??

Any aftermarket head available for this thing, or will you port the stock ones ???

Subscribed man. Can't wait to see what's next for the G8..............

In other words the same, hence why they kept the mufflers on when they tuned it. Congrats!

Does the ARH system delete the cats? What does the ARH "exhaust" consist of besides headers (X-over, cat delete pipes, etc.)? Very nice gains from ARH regardless, a little disappointed with the Rotofab though. Great work guys!

I have been reading that the DOD wont work with a cam swap but some may not care about that. They have the L76 heads but you can use some L92s if you wanted.

I'm looking into getting a G8 later this year but I would prefer the get a GXP or an M6 G8.

That system on this car has cat's.. I'm not really sure what the gain's would be w/o cat's.. but from what i've seen w/ this car so far.. this is just the beginning.. won't be long before some 500whp one's are prowling around...

Wasn't that bad.. Roto Fab makes a really nice kit w/ no drama.. Plug and play... Which is pretty hard to get nowaday's... Excellent direction's as well.. Only need bigger pix for us blind folk's...

Thanks a lot. It was fun working with this car and figuring out what its capabilities are. There's a lot of performance to be had by properly tuning the transmission tables. During dyno simulations we found .2 in the 1/4 with the same 60 ft simply from transmission tuning. We also got this big car barking the tires on the 1-2 shift in sport mode with 2 people in the car and about 40lbs worth of stuff in the trunk.
As for cams, this particular customer needed the car back and is on his way back to nebraska. We're currently accepting appointments for those interesting in helping test cams.

NICE results through that auto.

The graph *looks* like the converter was unlocked as well, did I miss it or was this locked or unlocked?

Nice job on the R&D Kaltech.

Not so nice job on GM putting out an LSX powered vehicle in 2008 that is putting down 1998 F-body #'s. Good one guys

The G8-GT already has L92 heads.

G8-GT L76 engine = LS2 block + L92 heads + LS3 intake + displacement on demand.

Wow, impressive results. These are basically LS2 range numbers if I'm not mistaken, correct? Definitely strong, and definitely detuned / tamed like hell from the factory. Can't wait to see some cammed ones driving around.
