Default LSX supercharged swap into a mustang. Anyone have any pics or info?

I'm curious if anyone has done a lsx swap into a mustang and then supercharged it with a procharger or vortech. Anyone know of any members that have done this? Is there anyone who makes a kit?

It looks like there would be plenty of room to use the ATI ProCharger GTO bracket assembly, which is what we did on this Mazda RX7.

From the pictures it looks like you might have to delete your power steering to make room for the ProCharger kit but it will be worth the trade off.

Shoot Phill99vette a PM. He has a lot of experience with the LSX block and mustangs. Check out this tread:

I've only seen turbo mustang builds. I am familiar with the gto kit on the fd rx7's. That would probably work in this situation too. I'll keep looking.

if you are going FI you are better off keeping the 5.0 motor, many more setups available everything from d1 to f3 brackets, and 20+ years of R&D and proven combos.

i'm just about to start my swap - i already have an ls1 in the stang and swapping the direct port setup to an F1-R .

just like phill said, it should be a direct fit if you are using the F-body accessory drive. you might have to use aftermarket cooling fans ( i'm using a camaro radiator and fans) due to the blower getting close to them, but i'll know in few days.

the other issue you will have is the intercooler. as far as i can tell and from the measurements i took , the one that bob from EPP sells :
http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com....html?item=655
should fit nicely.

while you are at it , you might look into the 8 rib tensioner and blower brace from SDCE .

Hi guys.I owned a fully built fox body a while back. I think the combo of 402 stroker lsX with a f1r sounds pretty awesome. I know that there's easy ways to make 950 with a ysi and 347 ford, but Id like to try something a little different. Starting with a strong motor (500 rwhp+) and adding the f1r would be fun. With cogs, I bet you could make some massive power with the lsx(1000-1100rwhp). I'd be building a drag race class car, so the edge might make it worth it. I'd also be running an air to water.

1dirtyz, looking forwrd to seeing some pics. Keep up the good work!

If you use the LS1 F Body bracket assembly, you're going to need to beef it up to use a blower larger than an F-1A. Bob

thanks for the input bob. It'll be interesting to see how the hood clearance of this setup is with the big f1r(using the f body bracket). Maybe custom bracket may be necessary using the bigger blower. A strut brace will definately be used.

there won't be any hood issues, the F-body bracket mounts the blower down low, right in front of the alternator.

cool.. I'll keep an eye out. The f1r is good to bottom 8's in a drag car so it should be an awesome combo.
