Default 8cyl to a 4 cyl?

My 2007 GXP switches back and forth between a 8c cylinder and 4 cylinder to save on gas mileage. Can the computer in my 2002 camaro be programed for that as well?

No. Unless you do a complete swap from a 5,3L DOD.

I dare you to pull 2 injector connectors from each bank. [NO DON'T.]

DoD is not possible without the right PCM AND block, lifters and some other goodies. Its more than just programming. The new block has oil galleys that direct oil to the lifters to let them fill or not.
