Default Max lift on stock LS1 springs????

Hey, I was about to do a cam swap on a buddies LS1 engine, but I forgot what the max lift of the LS1 spring were. If anybody knows, please chime in and we can close this thread ASAP! Thnaks!

Stock cam and RPM, anything more and you will float them. They tend to weaken and cause valvetrain problems with higher mile cars, I certainly wouldn't consider them for a bigger cam.

Yeah, barely good enough for the stock cam. Toss them out.

I had my stock rocker arms rebuilt by Harland Sharp due to the paranoia that they would spill needle bearings at some point. While they were out, I swapped in some yellow LS6 valve springs for extra insurance (still on a stock cam). I kinda want to send the stockers off to have them tested for seat pressure...they only had 65,000 miles on them, but I have no idea if they were still within spec or not.

If you are dropping in an actual, honest to God cam (not like an LS6, Hot Cam, or ASA), you'd better believe you'll need an aftermarket spring. Nothing GM offers for valve springs would come close to controlling an aftermarket, aggressive cam lobe.

it was a 216 duration .551 lift and 115lsa. what do you all think.

Looks like the same Crane Cam I currently run, no go on stock springs. Go with PAC 1218's or 1518's for longer life.
