It has to turn over at least, often when the opti is bad it will start and die or not start but turn over however if the ignition module is bad then yes it wont turn over, but it does have 170,000 miles,i say move on or have him fix it and if he does buy it if its cheap.

how much are ignition modules and are they hard to replace. i thought the ingnition module was the optisprak but guess i am wrong. he says the igintion module is $75 is this true? what does the module actually do and is there a way to tell if ones bad. i am looking at this car. it has 168,000 miles and has leather interior and is a 95. how much do you think its worth he says it needs some work. hes asking $1000. is it worth it?

Its called "ignition controll module" mounted on driver side head, if its bad the engine will crank and no start.

Ignition controll module is about $50-$80

Ignition controll module gives pulse signal.

i would first check for spark, then coil, spark plugs, wires, before replacing the ICM.

ok i think i am going to go over there and try to turn the motor over by the crank to see if the motor may be locked up cause i don't want to even mess with it if the motor is locked up. being it has that many miles it could be internal problems.
