Default Please post your 224/224 .581/.581 112 sound clips please!

Hello, Im thinking of purchasing this particular cam for my first internal mod and I wanted to know how aggressive the sound is going to be. Im almost certain that this is the cam that I want to go with, but I want to have an idea on whats it going to sound like before I decide. I made an identicle thread like this not too long ago, but its no where to be found! Not only that, I only got 2 sound clips out of about 20 replies! Thanks alot!

Thanks buddy, what exhuast were you running on those 2 sound clips? Were the heads stock and what other mods did you have when you recorded the clip? I appreciate it!

That was an open FLP 3" y-pipe, heads were stock at that time, I had FLP headers, no cats.

Was it flowing through a cutout or there was no catback whatsoever? You wouldnt happen to have a sound clip of the car with FLPs, off road pipes, and an exhuast would ya? Thanks

Is there any way that you can make one so that I have some kind of an idea on what it sounds like. Thanks and I would appreciate it if you would.

Here's wat that cam is on a 114LSA through 1-7/8 Grot's, no cats, 3 to 3-1/2 Y to Corsa. Sorry it's not a 112, but it should be close.

224 .581 114 at Idle

I have a bunch more vids as well. Checkout the Movies > Street for a few flyby's. There are a bunch of other ones in there too.

Correct me if Im wrong but, doesnt a tighter lsa give it a choppier lope? If so, then its probably going to be milder than Im wanting, so therefore its really not what Im looking for, but I do appreciate it. Thanks and TTT because I need some more.

To Derty: It sounds awesome for being on a 114 LSA! How much of a difference will it make in sound with a 112 LSA? Did you advance or retard the cam any? Thanks alot and to anyone else who has this cam, please post your sound clips!

I did not advance it at all. It's 114 straight up. As far as 112 to 114 do you honestly think you are going to get a buttload more chop out of a 2 degree LSA difference? I highly doubt it would be anything drastic. You're only going to see a shift in the HP curves in comparison over the course of only a couple hundred RPM's. Otherwise you would end up with something similar to mine with a similar exhaust setup (headers, ORY, etc.).

If you want choppier lopes you may want a different cam all together. However, my car chops enough to set car alarms off for about 20 to feet on startup.

Good luck.

I never said that the 2 degree difference was going to make a drastic change in sound. Was the car cold or at full operating temperature when you recorded the clip? I know that this cam will sound awesome when its cold, but is it going to keep the sound when it warms up? My internally stock car, with all the bolt ons sounds pretty awesome when its cold and I first start it up. But as it warms up, it tames itself quite a bit. Thanks

I dont know how to include it in a post, but you could send it to me in an email. Maybe you can contact LS1tech and ask them. I think the address is at the bottom. Youll have to email Prostock John and wait for a response. Thanks
