Better with stock heads - TR230 or X1
I have a stock headed 01 M6 with full bolton(lid, headers, pulley, ported throttle body) and I will also be doing 4.10 gears and full dyno tune.
My main question is which cam will work better with stock heads? I plan to get stage 2 heads, but not for another 6-12 months.
Drivability and power between the two?? Thanks

I think he's referring to HP values and stall & idle characteristics.

Why did you limit your choices to only those two cams? Out of the two, the X1 should make more power due to its higher lift and longer exhaust duration, but it will idle rougher.

i'll vote for the tr230
they are both good cams though and you probably won't notice a difference between either one of them. i looked at the x1 but got my tr230 for $325 brand new so i couldn't pass it up.

I lost a bunch of low end when I got my headers so I hope I don't loose TOO much more with the cam.
Thanks,
Matt

driveability is just fine. it dosn't surge at all and has plenty of torque. i made 350rwtq from 3200-5700 and with the 4.11's it has plenty of power to get off the line. i still shift at just over 2,000 rpms while driving normal on the street.

One thing to consider is gear. With either of those cams you will benefit from 4.30's over the 4.10's. Some would even say 4.56's with bigger tires. The 224 sized cams will not need to be revved as high, and in that, will not need much gear.
Also, you are talking about less than 10 horsepower difference between the 230 sized cams vs the 224 size, but a good bit of driveability differnce. You should consider these aspects of your cam choice also
