Torque arm woth it?
Would a new aftermarket torque arm be with it for a set up like mine? I have stock motor just the basic's. Lid, free mod’s, L/t headers, and full exhaust. I did just rebuild the trany with a converter and I want to get the most out of it. What kind of gains would I notice from one and what brand would you recommend? Also I have stock springs and don’t plan on lowering it as of right now. I go to the track a hand full of times out of the year. So should I consider an adjustable one? Sponsors feel free to jump in on this one, or shoot me a PM with what you got.

a torque arm will def. help you out. any manufacturer makes a great product. i have spohn on my third gen and an random tech. on my SS. Both are adjustable. if you plan on lowering your car or want to set your pinion angle then an adjustable one is for you.

I don't think your car would benefit very much from that right now. IF you were putting down more power I'd say you'd benefit but right now the gains would be very minimal. Buy some DRs and a cam instead.

I added a Spohn adjustable torque arm to my car after also being told I needed one. (Even though my car hooked everytime with the stocker)
I adjusted it everywhere from -1 to -3 degrees pinion angle and it did absolutely nothing for my 60 foots. The clunking and banging on most every upshift drove me crazy, so I took it off and sold it. Car still hooks fine, and now is back to being quiet underneath.
For going to the track a "handful of times" I'd spend that money elsewhere myself. There's plenty of less expensive mods that you'll actually get a gain from at your level. Underdrive pulley, drag radials, PRACTICE, etc...

hmm... i say yes, its DEFINITLY worth it.. no question. ive got an adjustable UMI torque arm which has never made a squeek, and the quality is top notch... i cant say how it directly affected my suspension, because at the time i upgraded shocks, sway bars and the torque arm
