Default 473 rwhp with factory 241 heads and 12 bolt rear

I just had Slowhawk(aka Don Kinder) tune my car . The car had some issues that Don straightened out . The car put down 473 rwhp and 407 rwtq N/A with a set of worked over 241 factory heads , a 12 bolt rear with 4.30 gears, and a Denny's nitrous ready steel driveshaft. Not to mention the very hot and muggy weather didn't help matters any. The car also has Kooks stepped race headers, Tony Mamo ported Fast 90/90, stock bottom end.

Did pretty good.Just imagine how the H/C setup would do with a tighter bottom end.

The heads were ported by ARE way back(2001) before they went out of bussiness and there were no aftermarket heads out yet.

so much for getting som track times posted . Ran a 10.5 @ 130 and the next pass I blew the ring and pinion in the 12 bolt. Som more seat time once the rear is set should get me som better times

That's a strong setup no doubt, little playing with it after the rear's fixed and that thing's gonna move out really good.

Damn! M6 too yet....

What do you think you could have gotten it down to? I'd be happy as **** with a 10.6 @ 130.....

What kind of race weight do you have?

Thanks, getting my shift light hooked up too. I know the stock tach isn't helping me any. Weight on the car is 3420 with me in it. Only time will tell as far as what it will run with the shock settings figured out and more seat time.

Definately get a tach on there. That will make life alot better, the one I have with the split #'s (the 6000 thru 9000 rpm one) is easy to reas while going down the track, alot easier then the ones with all the #'s the same size/spacing. Definately one of the better things that went in the car.

Joe, not all port jobs on stock castings are equal, as you unfortunately know.

eeh, better to have a low dyno # and a good track # then the other way around.

SOM's car is mean though, old school setup on there, but it makes steam
