How to enlarge rear wheel opening?
I'm working on a 98 Camaro for the dragstrip. I want to use 315/60R15 M/T's. Anyone got any tips on how to work with the plastic behind the rear wheels to open it up a few inches? Is the bumper cover a urethane material?

wheel well
not sure how the guy did it, said he cut and glued it or something but it looks like it came from the factory. These are 29"tires and I race on 29.5's.

they are either cut completely flat or rolled completely flat. personally if you race almost all the time then i would just cut them but then your guna have to paint it. ill get some pics of mine next time im out by my car. a lot of guys want the car to have the wheels tucked up into the wheel housing. so you can do one of 2 things. take some cut or roll the lip and then take some bfh to the wheel house and a different backspacing on the rims for a stock length housing or go my route and cut the lip or roll the lip and mini tub the car get a shortened rear and different back spacing tire to give you a deep dish rim that will tuck up into the wheel house.

The wheels you see on the car are 15x10 w/ a 6.5"bs. Those are my street wheels. Little if any work has to be done with that bs.
The wheels I race with are the same size but have a 7.5 bs. and for that, yes I removed bumpstops and had to use a BFH on the inner front wheelwells to get them to fit w/o rubbing.
Also had to roll the upper fender lip so they don't cut the tires on turns.

Afterthoughtsauto.com rents out a tool that rolls the lip in. Kinda neat...
if not afterthoughts...try the ws6store
hope that helps...sounds more like you need to trip the wheel well to make it wider...and i cant help there
