Hey new member here and I am Going to be tackeling a 1999 5.3 swap into my 1971 camaro. Thought this would be a good place to start gathering info before I get started so anyones help and suggestions will help. First things first I am on a budget and do not have a disposable income. I am going carb setup so I need to choose a carb I will buy new. going with the Edlebrock intake and msd ignition controller unless I get another idea from someone here. Need motor and trans mounts I am going to go with the stock 350 trans for a year or two. Accessory drive setup. fuel pump and regulator. And anything else you guys can help me with. I appreciate anything Thanks Tyler

I would suggest you use the search and find the 2nd Gen F-Body threads and research there swaps.. 2nd would be to browse some of the vendor sites.. S&P and BRP are good ones to start with. They both have project swap of various cars that you can get good information and knowledge from.

On doing a search, once you find some of the 2nd Gen User names, do a an advance search on there users past post and threads. That way you will get related information for your 2nd Gen.

These swap are not really that hard no adays due to the swap adapter and kit have figured out all of the engineering already.

After your research, if you have any specific question, ask away (most of us don't have time to right a complete swap book).

Good luck and start a swap thread for update and progress.

Honestly dude you could probably go way cheaper leaving the factory intake on and running the stock stuff.

Seriously you would only need a few things that are fuel injection related and cost less than a carb.

I have a friend that put a 4.8 into his 77 truck and got the whole shebang engine, tranny, harness/computer for like 1200 with 34k. I deleted the security/02codes with hptuners and bam. He seriously only bought hoses, fluids, motor mounts, fuel pump/filter + odds and ends. Screw a carb if you already have the parts for efi

For me a carb only SEEMS easier.

The only thing I have is the complete engine, no ecm and no acc. Truck intake and fuel injection is there nothing else.
