Default "Best" Muffler replacement for LM

After LTs are installed on a LM car I do not like the rasp from watching some videos on YouTube. I was thinking of replacing the lm muffler with a Hooker Aerochamber...anyone else running this muffler or something different I would like to hear about it or hear it if possible.

a popular choice is to switch either to the LM2 resonator, or swap in a borla or corsa bullet-type muffler. i've never heard of an aerochamber in an SLP setup. try LS1sounds.com and see what you like. if you do choose the hooker setup, please let us know and provide us with an audio.

is the aero chamber a round muffler? or are you going to change the location of it? I dont see a big square muffler fitting there but it may with some modifications. I like my 1 chamber flowmasters but i hear they are raspy in a y pipe setup. I would go with the borla xr1.

I have a borla xr1 in my setup....still alil "loose" sounding but not nearly as raspy as the LM. I've looked into getting a traditional 2chamber in its place and it looks nearly impossible as it will hit the drive shaft

heres a video: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/3...yno_166386.htm

The specs of the muffler are 18 inch over all length, 4.75 thick, 10.25 wide for the aerochamber. Ill have to take a look tomorrow unless someone knows if itll fit off the top of their head.

I seriously dont think it will fit. You are going to need a round muffler or something small like a 1 chamber flowmaster to fit.

that width is too much...there is barely enough for the 7 7/8'' xr1

honestly i think your only choices for a muffler that will fit with out major modification is a racing muffler like one from dynatech, dynomax, or borla

How is the Flowmaster Delta Force One chamber?
I am guess the spiral flows would sound somewhat raspy?

I have the one chambers and love them but with a single exhaust setup they get really raspy. i had spiral flows before i got the flows and i thought they were too raspy and didnt like them, but there are people who love them.

Classic Chambered Exhaust "Power Stick" or Sweet Thunder chambered muffler.

Both are 1 in, 1 out design to fit the LM setup.

Doesn't Hooker make a "cat-back" with the Aerochamber muffler as part of the set-up???

Check the catalogs, I'm pretty sure I've seen it listed!
