homemade coil pack relocation!
i decided to make my own coil relocation kit. ive got a total of $109 in the whole thing, thats including the wires.
i mounted the passenger side straight to the heater box and the hoses running along it with zip ties, and zip tied to the cowl also. once the plastic wiper cowl is installed, you wont be able to see the ties at all. call it ghetto, i call it a way to save money lol. the kit that is sold on ls1tech requires you to bolt a bracket to a support on the cowl which requires removal of the plastic wiper cowl. all ya gotta do here is ziptie away.
there was nothin on the driver side to zip tie the coils to hold them up, so i went to home deopt and got a flat piece of sheetmetal (3x6), bent it to form a 90 degree, and drilled two holes in it to support the threaded rod. then i screwed it in to the cowl. the bracket supports the rear, a zip tie supports the front. easy removal and reintallation is need be. of course all this can only be done with the motor out of the car unless you can somehow drill the holes some other way!
and heres what ive relocated these things to show off! the picture doesnt show the color well...but its the same garnet that is used on the new cadillcas (escalade, cts, etc)

itll be next week before the motor is back in, but once it is it should be a nice engine bays for shows and stuff. battery, traction control, fuse boxes, a/c, and all wiring will be hidden and relocated. all holes filled in and shaved and everything repainted. i cant wait to get her back together!

Did it a few years ago but probably do not have more than $60 in it including the wires..it all bolts in ... no zip ties ...one bolt removes the coil pac for each side ... the plastic cowl is nothing to get off ... just plastic push pins and the same with windsheild wipers ... just use a battery cable puller to get them off...nothing to it...
