I don't think it would be too bad. I always get a bullet style muffler on the end of the y-pipe dumped.

With long tube headers, what Y pipe would let me mate to the stock cat back? I have a cutout on right now, is always open, so the flow wont be too bad.

I'm pretty sure most Y-pipes come with a narrowed end so they slip into the stock or aftermarket catback.

Ok thanks. I think Thats the route I'll go with...for now. H pipe later down the road. Sorry for the thread hijack. Put a cutout on the stock I pipe, and I think you will free up enough power.

I also have LT's ORY and a stock catback but I do have a cutout. And i'll be the first one to say I think the car is just as fast with the cutout capped as it is open.

Ok the guy had the i pipe narrowed to 2 3/4 pipe. i cut it at that point. and now have 3 in pipe to the xr-1 and have it dumped in front of the axle. not quite as loud as id like but great sound. I needed something anyway since vernon is coming up and im going to do bottle and stall before I finish back bumper and skirt conversion.

Got any sound clips?

After I get the new stall I'm definitely changing my exhaust...the Pacesetter Y pipe is pathetic. I'll be getting the flowmaster merge collector.

No sound clip yet. Got a nasty belt sqeak lol. I like it tho. Didnt want way loud because im going to stall soon. Would be a little much i think for a dd. Im real happy with it tho. Will probable switch to a true dual down the road but this is just fine for now. Vernon cruise is tomorrow i might get a clip then.

Cutout on the stock exhaust would be a pretty sweet setup.

my buddy has a lid long tube 01 b4c. he had an orx and true duals with 4x9 magnaflows dumped at the axle - trapped 109. removed the orx and added the stock catback + ory, the car trapped 107 in much worse conditions. i don't think the stock catback is hurting power much at all with stockish power levels.

http://media.putfile.com/Cutout-closed

Here is my car with stock cat back and the cutout closed. It now sounds even better than that because it has a few leaks in that clip. Plus I have C6 tips on there now. I cant get a good cutout open clip because the camera just distorts the sound because its so loud haha
