NRHA Lucas Oil Nationals - Pictures
Here are some pictures I took from my first NHRA event.
To bad I won't be back for the finals tomorrow.
Everyone was running away from the nitro methane cloud of pain. I on the other hand ran right into it and stood there to take a couple pictures.
Notice the crew wearing respirators... Yeah it hurt.. but in a good way.
A behind the scenes shot.

Breathing it in is one thing, but damn that stuff just melts the eye *****.
Is it wrong that I would do it again in a heart beat?
It is truly a sick obsession that drives us.

Is that smoke coming off that clutch pack? That Nitro Methane was a whole lot worse than the gas chamber. The gas chamber just makes you snot, drule, and sometimes through up, but that Nitro Methane felt like someone split my skull open with a spoon and squeezed on my brain.

Yes that is smoke coming off the clutches. I snapped that picture right after the tech pulled the clutches and slid them over in that container.
I would estimate that it was probably 10-15 in after the run when those clutches came out.
