Default How to setup m6, big cam, spray

My car currently goes through the traps at the beginning of 4th (before the spray). It is lacking a bit off the line... Suspension is all done. Textralia clutch,

Im gonna try real hard to save up for a 9'', driveshaft, and sticky tires.

I want to be able to launch on the street with decent rpms and get up in those higher rpms to take advantage of my cam and spray.

I got a progressive 150 shot that can do first gear lockout, so i can set this up however i want.

So what tires should I go with (summer daily driver for sunny days) and what rearend ratio in a 9''? I have firehawk rims on right now, wouldnt mind getting em widened in the rear. I think itd be cool to keep these.

How much will a gear change affect it off of the line?

I am currently in the same situation, I would go with a Moser 9" with 4.10 gears. With the nitrous thats the biggest gear I would use. I would probably go with some weld rims in the back with mickey et streets, or mickey et street radials. 4.10's In conjunction with the 9inch your gonna be a whole tone faster off the line. What cam are you running, I have the trex which is not in yet.

Go with 4.30s gears. I have them in my new M9. Your a cam only setup, which most likely won't pull the traps my car will, and 4.30s isn't too much gear for me on motor with stock height tires. Throw the 28s on there for juice, and you've got an optimum setup for motor and spray.

In the end, don't fear the gear

Oh, and what tires? I've ran the Nitto DRs for years, but now that I don't have the 10 bolt to baby anymore, when this set is done (which won't be long) I'm going with the MT ET Street DRs.

325/50R15 M/T drag radials are what I was using in this video.

I have 3.70 gears and a powerglide. For a combination that isn't making as much power 4.30 gears would be a great combination with these tires. Bob
