I have all the piping, clamps, two O2 extensions.
Do I need new bolts?
Can the stock manifold gaskets be reused? If not does anyone have the GM number?
I only have 30k miles. Should I change the plugs? What ones?
When I ordered the O2 extensions from the WS-6 Store they said one long and one short. I noticed I have four sensors. Do I need to order another pair or do you just use two of the O2's? If you use all four where do the other two go as the headers only have O2 bungs. Would the Y we are making need bungs added? Where can they be purchased if so? What are the common extensions used on an 02 TA like mine?

You do not need new bolts. Only the front o2 sensors are needed as the rear ones only tell the computer that the cats are working (however you will throw a ses light) The stock manifold gaskets are supposed to be pretty good and can be reused. I cracked a plug during my header install so its better to take them out and replace them. Ngk tr-55's are good.

I am in prep for headers also..i bought the stage 8 locking bolts, and i am going to purchase new manifold gaskets..You might as well replace them..my car is 10 years old and 61k on it..so the gaskets are new by any means I also bought my tr55s from ws6 store.

Oh sure, I'm not saying that you cant make a custom Y that doesnt bang... But it will hang so low that you wont be able to drive over a speed bump. Poly mounts are a must. If you dont, then I garuntee you'll be back asking about the mufflex bumpstop... which many of us have done, myself included. Now ive got poly mounts. Why? Because it is a must. Its so much of a must, infact, that about everyone who has an ls1 with headers has them.

pics of the loot? i used my stock gaskets and they work fine but next time im in there im going to replace them. you might as well replace the plugs while your down there and new plug wires are a must! i learned the hard way. also you should invest in some plug sleeves for extra protection.

If the y pipe still bangs after they put poly mounts in, its because they installed their y pipe in where it is always touching the body. If you poly it, it wont bang. And doing them with the headers off the car would make it much better. Just look up the post by luna on poly mounts. I wouldnt install headers without them. Period. If you don't, then you'll end up getting crazy with it trying to get a garden hose and a BFH to fix it. All f bodys are the same. If something that is manufactured for one car then its going to be the same story for everyone. Most everyone is running poly mounts.

I really wish that ALL the sponsors would list poly mounts as a must before people purchase headers. A little caption that reads: "If you don't install these, or get creative, then no matter what you will have pipe banging issues" That would solve these problems. There's nothing like the feeling of shifting hard and feeling the pipe smacking the floor... or having it rattle on the floor.
