Default Ported Aftermarket Castings

Guys, I'm looking for threads or websites with detailed writups of peoples
experiences with ported aftermarket castings (not ported stockers).
Specifically, N/A LTx strokers. If you know of any bookmarked or that come to mind,
could you point me at them? I've found a few in searches, but I am sure there are more out there.

Ported aftermarket castings will out flow stock, but for the extra cost, most just stick with ported stockers. For the extra 1000.00 dollars or so you can do other mods. Anymore I would limit what I buy from the aftermarket scene, gm is hard to beat on the reliability factor!! Im sure you already new this by your mods in sig...

James why don't you look into the new AFR Eliminator heads? Maybe the 210's?

I actually went with LE-ported Dart Pro 1s.
I'm just doing some post-purchase research while I wait for him to finish.

FWIW, the cost was really not all that bad VS doing LE2 or LE3 stockers.
(I am selling my LE2s to fund part of what I am spending to get these)

Brady had a nice set of CNCed Darts on his IIRC.
I saw AFR was working on a ported Dart product as well (Not sure if they are in production yet)

Yeah, no worries there. Just curious to see what others have done and what they ran into.

I saw a few LE3 383 project threads this morning, people were making 450-460 at the wheels with ported stockers.
My cam is a little more agressive and the heads are bigger, so we'll see where I end up.
I convinced myself that the ported stockers would be a bottleneck with my setup LOL.
Granted, I am also running a big loose stall, so track numbers will probably mean more to me than dyno numbers.

Then again, I've seen a few in the high 300s. I sure hope they all find their gremlins.
I don't think I'll make LESS power with this than I did with the old setup LMAO

Good luck with the new set up! Curious to see what kinda numbers it pumps out at the strip. If I didnt have to pass smog I would be building some thing similar.

Good choice on letting Lloyd clean up those Darts, thats more than likely the route I would take (If I wanted anything more extreme than the LE2s I am planning on going with).

I'm running the DART's out of the box and they perform great. Granted, I have yet to see their full potential out of the box because I still have a hotcam )=

Not right away, but eventually I'd like a direct-port system.
Trans and rear end are going to need upgrading first LOL EDIT: and fuel system

Is there some reason these heads would not work well with N20?

No, Im not saying that..Its just, when I talked to LE, he recommended (for me) a different head, and mine will be N/A all the way. Just askin'.

Interesting. What did you end up using? (If I may ask)
I looked at Dart VS TFS and decided that I could get more out of the Darts.
I was going to have the ports modified to fit an LT4 manifold for even more
flow, but there's just no way I'm paying the kind of money people are asking for those.
I also considered a converted single-plane, but there just isn't enough to gain
for a street motor with that setup to justify the cost.
I just sent Lloyd my ported stock manifold for additional porting instead.

I havent made my decision yet, but it was TFS. Can't remember his reasoning for this, but at the time, thats what he'd run.

TFS are less expensive. Which is a nice feature.

Oh well, too late now ... money is spent Heh.
Just gotta get the rest of the pieces lined up.
I keep a running list on my cardomain page so I can look it up on my phone
whenever I am trying to remember if I already bought something or not.

I think something like, you can get the cc's for your combustion chamber lower with the TFS, which will boost compression..over the Darts..Hell, I dont remember..lol.

I know what ya mean, last spring I had a list written out, sitting right next to my laptop. Then Id know what to buy/shop for.

OH, I see. Yes, the Darts had big chambers. I just had em milled down to 56cc to
match the rest of my setup. If I had decided on Darts sooner, I'd have used pistons
with smaller dishes. (I'm using -13cc Wisecos this time around).

This cam likes 11.5:1 compression, so I'm sticking as close to that as possible.
I was going to run much higher, but it limited my cam options.

Wow, I was really expecting to find more people running ported aftermarket castings.
I'm finding some, but most of those guys are running SR cams.
I guess we'll just have to wait until I get this all put together and tuned before
we know how it works out.

I'm getting all kinds of anxious to find out LOL
