So i raced my friend again with an 03 cobra because he just put an intake and a tune on his car. I have a 99 z28 with intake and full exhaust and im a 6 speed car. We went from a 35-40 with both of us in 2nd. We didnt honk we both just kinda hit it at the same time with me getting a millisecond start lol. I jumped a lil on him and by the time we shut down at 110 we where pretty much even with him maybe a fender ahead but he was pullin pretty good up top. My car is still untuned which i think will make a good bit of difference. What do you guys think will happen if i get a tune? How much should i gain because everybody is telling me that my car is running rich. Its kooks longtubes with off road y and slp loudmouth. Thanks

I ran my friends 03 from a roll and he was Intake/borla cb and I was intake/kooks ormids and we stayed dead even to. With a tune so should pick up 10-20 rwhp. Have you thought about a ud pulley and tune.

tell me why its BS? ive seen it plenty of times....there are about six 03 cobras that come out racing with us on the weekends. 2 of them are intake and catback the others are pullied. Most of the 40 cars that come out with us are cam or bolt on LS1's and the intake and exhaust 03 cobras have been dead even or getting slightly pulled by full bolton ls1's

What are the weights of the 2 vehicles. camaro and cobra? The cobra is substantially heavier isnt it?
Regardless good kill, now wait till he drops a new header back exhaust, a pully and a tune. Start pricing a magnacharger.

i dont see why those goobers do all that while on the dyno. id want a dyno to be a real world close as possible. so when did cobra owners and Supra owners become so like in mentality?

im not callin bs to be an ***, i respect ls motors just as much as the next guy. im just sayin that if you have both cars properly driven that the cobra should easily pull on the z! it has at least a 60+hp adv!

i can see that with full bolt-on. being full exhaust, ud,lid, tune, etc.. thats about 30-40 hp more than the car in question!

Probably not even that much from a '99 w/ just exhaust. Still had an LS1 intake car with either 809 or 853 heads. I guess this race was all about the driver. Good runs.

my 99' dynoed 330hp/345trq with nothing but a magnaflow catback and whisper lid. every cars diffrent. i know for a fact that full exhaust ls1's can run with intake/exh. 03/04 cobras. done it a few times my self before the cam. and if you guys didnt notice. he didnt say it was dead even. he said he got a small jump on the guy and that the guy was pulling away when they let off.

LOL! Ford guys can't stand it when an LS1 beats the Cobra. They always call BS, even when there's video proof.
