Re: LQ4/LQ9 heads allow more P to V clearance than LS1/LS6/5.3? No, PtV clearance will be the same between the 6.0l heads and the LS1/LS6 castings. Combustion chamber volume has nothing to do with this (at least not directly). It is how much is milled off the deck surface of the heads, valve size,etc. The 5.3 head will have better PtV on the intake side (1.89 intake valve vs 2.00 on the 6.0/LS1/LS6), but the it still retains the 1.55 exhaust valve as found on the other heads. Most people install larger valves in the 5.3l heads anyways while they are being ported.
