Default fuel pressure drops at WOT?

I was having a problem with low fuel pressure in my 98 that had a stock pump so I figured I would upgrade. I installed the racetronics pump and wiring kit. Well now I have 58 psi at idle and cruising but under WOT over 5500 it drops to 50 psi or so. Is this normal? Or could the regulator be bad.
The stock pump was fine for 3 years and then a month ago pressure got low 54psi and then at WOT it went to 44psi.
Also has a new filter.
BTW this is a cam only 98 Camaro with a Trex and 42psi injectors.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

that should be fine, it's pretty normal if you're needing a lot of fuel (that's why boosted cars use the MSD booster to get more out of it at boost). You don't want it falling too far though ... make sure your AFR's are good

Do a search under my screen name for fuel pressure drop...I too was having problems with this same exact thing. I took the regulator out of the tank and moved it up front (I used an adjustable Fuelabs regulator), and it stopped all of my pressure dropping issues completely. Plus, I think it came out really well since I used the EVAP as the return line.
