Anyone Still Do Canyon Runs?
Was wondering if anyone here still goes up to the montains for some corner carving? I went once a while ago and it was pretty fun. If anyone does, let us know! Or else I'll have to start something up. Road racers, where you at?

If you organize something, count me in! I'd have to stay at the back of the pack though or I'd get run over... I don't need another ticket. I like to find places with high speed limits and tight turns. Theres a two-lane highway out in Oregon that's awesome. 50-60MPH limit (if I remember right) on a real twisty two-lane through the forest, from the beach going inland. Unfortunately nowhere near SoCal.

I used to go all time up azusa but the cops have been crackin down cuz of all the 240s crashing up there. This guy in an old Mazda got a ticket for bald tires and I got a modified plate ticket I've been thinkin about Ortega though.

Don't let the reputation fool you. 3rd and 4th gens can be made to handle damn good. When I went to an autocross event in Idaho, there was a 93-97 Z28 pulling almost the same times as the lightly modified Vettes... He's probably on the boards here but I don't know who it is. Good driving and had to have quite a bit done to the suspension (had a cage too, for whatever that's worth - besides weight gain).
Yeah, there's nothing that's a long drive while on it, but real close in this area besides Ortega...

Im gonna check out some roads in the next week or two so we can set something up. Im leaning towards a road race setup for my car so I'll keep testing it out. Nice to see some guys willing to go. I'll let you guys know when I find a good place, do the same.

Yeah, if anybody has some routes, use Google Maps "directions" feature and type in addresses or locations for point A and B, and click and drag the route on the map to the route you suggest (it works). This way you can get a somewhat accurate mileage and time estimate.
P.S. - 3,062 miles ^

HA! The best mileage i can get know is 21mpg on cruise control at 65mph. with faster driving and corner carving it'll drop to around 15mpg, or worse. I would need 12 full tanks to do that run! LOL!
