Engine clean up shots
I just found the !wire mod last night thanks to a member here and I decided to do it today. I also took the time to clean and repaint the engine compartment to help brighten up the look in there. In the second shot you can see the metal cover I made for the PCM. I swear, that was a spur of the moment thing. I want to do the coil relocation mod when I put the new 241 heads on with red painted valve covers. I don't know what color to paint the intake, silver or a metallic black? You guys decide.

Nope...I did it on a whim this morning. I taped it off carefully and took my time. I am known amongst my car buddies as the rattle can king. I did this all with Duplicolor paints from Auto Zone.

I planned to do this with the new heads but since I had the time and we have a very large car show coming up soon, I decided to move along now with the engine mods. Enjoy.

I actually painted the intake black and clear coated it. It didn't come out like I had hoped but its not dark gray anymore plus it has a deeper shine. I went black to keep the contrast up. I was loosely basing the engine off of one I saw here but went black instead of silver to keep from looking like a nut swinger.

looks bad *** man. you've inspired me to paint my engine bay. beside taping, did you how did you prep it for paint. i.e. sanding, primer, cleaning. i've only painted my valve covers with spray paint, but i learned some valuable lessons. thanks. Dan

I did some wet sanding on the engine bay with 400 grit. For the most part, I just cleaned it with some 409 and made sure all the residue was gone with soap and water. For the intake I used some plastic adhesion promoter called Bull Dog. That was about all the prepping needed to complete the job. Post up some of your shots when you start working.
