Default compression?

what compression should i run if i deside to sell the turbo and go all motor? i have a forged 385LT1 currently running 9to1

as far a mechanical comp, 11.25 to 1 wasnt an issue for me. LT4 Hotcam, CNC ported heads, LT1 casting, stock sized valves, 6" rods.

I would go in the 11:1 range if you are planning on driving it alot, more if its just a toy.

pretty sure i've seen setups of guys running 13:1 with pump gas

11.6.1 or 11.8.1 , Just under 12.1 is what i would do.

All the extra hassle with 12.1+ isnt worth the extra 5-10hp. Plus it makes tuning the car a total bitch.

I'm currently running 12:1 on 93 octane and the knock is minimal. I'm getting a slight bit of retard in the mid range and I'm working on tuning it out. Bottom line is static compression is not what you should be looking at but rather dynamic compression is the important one.

I'm running right at 9:1 dynamic compression...
