Default drum brakes on a ls1 diff? or super small brakes.

Hey guys im kind of in situation. The rims i have wont fit my ls1 diff/+ brake setup on my thirdgen. I then downgraded to lt1 brakes and grinded away. still no luck. I then say eff it and wanted my stock thirdgen disc brake setup however i needed the backing plates which noone even gm carries anymore.

I however can get drum backing plates for a 10 bolt thirdgen however i wasnt sure if i needed anything to put it on a ls1 diff.

This is a fix so i can get my car on the road until i find a small brake setup.

Im not even sure where to look for small brakes for the rear.

Any ideas?

Are you that much in love with the rims? Because 17" wheels
might be the cheapest way out.

So is this on a thirdgen? What type of wheels are you wanting to run on this car? Go with a 16" rim which will clear LS1 brakes but still give plenty of sidewall. You know 17" tires are the norm these days with 15's slowly weeding out?! I'd go with 17's for the looks, handling but it's all a personal preference.

There are a few tires for 17's that have a good bit of sidewayll. I personally have ran the M&H DR 325/45/17. Its a 28" tall tire, so a good bit more sidewall than a 315/35. and mickey thompson has the 295/45 out now...
